Responsible Service of Alcohol VIC
Undertaking an approved Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course gives participants the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to a safe, enjoyable environment in licensed premises.
Who needs an RSA Certificate?
It is compulsory to have an RSA certificate for hospitality staff who work in a venue with a general, on-premises, late night or packaged liquor licence, such as a bottle shop. It is also compulsory in other situations where there is a condition on the liquor licence requiring the employment of RSA trained staff. It is also a requirement for anyone applying for a new liquor licence.
The course covers:
- legal requirements on the sale and service of alcohol
- harm minimisation and duty of care
- anticipating problems and managing patrons
- assess and monitor the levels of intoxication of patrons
- advise patrons on standard drinks and the effects of alcohol.
- 4 hour course
The Responsible Service of Alcohol Course will issue the participant with a RSA Certificate endorsed by the Director of Liquor Licensing.

FACE TO FACE:
Course Duration: minimum of 4 hours (9:00am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-5:00pm)
Course Location: TBA
Course Cost: $75.00 (for R&C Members) or $100.00 (non members)
You will be assessed at the end of the course by a fully qualified trainer with current industry experience.
In-House Courses
In-House training in your own businesses can also be arranged. Minimum of 10 and Maximum of 15 participants per session again please contact the training department on 1300 722 878.
