Fair Work Commision - Minimum Wage Decision
The Fair Work Commission Minimum Wage Panel today decided to lift the national minimum wage to $622.20 per week or a 2.6% increase.

Terry Waldron announce their commitment to the election promise of making it easier for licensed restaurants and cafes to serve alcohol without purchasing a meal.

Restaurant & Catering Australia, the peak body for Australia’s restaurateurs and caterers, congratulates the Coalition on its recognition of small business in Mr Abbotts Budget Reply speech.
The Association is very supportive of the undertakings to delay the introduction of superannuation increases, undertake tax reform and to have a Small Business Minister in Cabinet.

The Tourism and Hospitality Industry are collaborating on a new initiative designed to improve the capacity and capability of the workforce. With funding from both the Commonwealth government and industry the Workforce Futures program brings a national network of experienced industry Skills Advisors to your business.As a proud Workforce Futures partner, Restaurant and Catering Australia has a network of experienced Skills Advisors available to assist you. R&CA has a team of Skills Advisors located across the country to assist your business with workforce development.
The R&CA Skills Advisors are available to assist owner/ operators of the Restaurant & Catering Industry to look at key components of successful business operation and to also identify improvements that can be supported by training, tools and resources available to support your business.

Australian Apprenticeship Mentoring Program
The R&CA Mentoring Program includes developing relationships with apprentices, personalised meetings keeping apprentices informed about opportunities relating to their apprenticeship, liaison with registered training organisations regarding off the job training, providing support and advice and being available to talk to apprentices about any issues they are having.
As well as providing targeted mentoring and assistance, the mentoring program will support employers as well, many of whom do not have the time or experience to manage the issues that arise for apprentices. There are currently no facilities to provide a high level of pastoral care and mentoring to those apprentices employed directly by Restaurants, Cafes and Caterers.

Apprenticeship Advisory Service
Restaurant & Catering Australia has established an Apprenticeship Advisory Service. The R&CA Apprenticeship Advisory Service project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education through the Australian Apprenticeship Mentoring Package.

The Fair Work Commission Minimum Wage Panel today decided to lift the national minimum wage to $622.20 per week or a 2.6% increase.
