La Fontaine of Hayman has been named Far North Queensland’s top place to dine, while Restaurant Le Paradis was named North Queensland’s top restaurant in the 2010 Savour Australia^TM Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence for the North and Far North QLD regions.

Over 35 awards were presented to restaurants and caterers whose businesses are located in North and Far North QLD at the ceremony on Monday 6 September at the Shangri-La Hotel in Cairns to acknowledge excellence in food and service. Over 150 guests enjoyed a delicious menu accompanied by wines from one of Queensland’s premium wineries, Witches Falls.

Joining La Fontaine and Restaurant Le Paradis in the winners’ circle was Hayman who was named Caterer of the Year for Far North Queensland and Townsville RSL who was awarded North Queensland’s Caterer of the Year.

All the winners from the night will now compete with venues from across QLD in the state final on Monday 13 September 2010 being held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibtion Centre.

Wasabi in Noosa Sound has been named the Sunshine Coast’s top place to dine in the 2010 Savour Australia^TM Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence – Sunshine Coast. The restaurant also won the Seafood Restaurant category.

Over 50 restaurants and caterers whose businesses are located on the Sunshine Coast were recognised at the ceremony last night (31 August) at Ebb Waterfront Dining & Cellar in Maroochydore to acknowledge excellence in food and service.

Joining Wasabi in the winners’ circle was Noosa Springs in Noosa Heads who was named Caterer of the Year. They also won the category of Function/Convention Centre Caterer.

Both Wasabi and Noosa Springs will now compete with venues from across QLD in the state final on Monday 13 September 2010.

Arakawa Japanese Restaurant in Benowa has been named the Gold Coast’s top place to dine in the 2010 Savour Australia^TM Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence for the Gold Coast. The restaurant also won the Asian Restaurant category.

Over 80 restaurants and caterers whose businesses are located on the Gold Coast were recognised at the ceremony on Monday 30 August at Jupiters Hotel & Casino to acknowledge excellence in food and service.

Joining Arakawa Japanese Restaurant in the winners’ circle was Sofitel Gold Coast in Broadbeach who was named Caterer of the Year. They also received an Honourable Mention in the category of Hotel Caterer.

Both Arakawa Japanese Restaurant and the Sofitel Gold Coast will now compete with venues from across QLD in the state final in September this year.

Mezzalira Ristorante in Canberra City and Thyme Out At The Manor in Wagga Wagga have been named the top places to dine in the 2010 Savour Australia^TM Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence for ACT and the Southern NSW regions (respectively).  Mezzalira Ristorante also won the category of Best Italian Restaurant, while Thyme Out At The Manor won their category of Contemporary Australian Restaurant – Formal.  The major awards of Restaurant of the Year were proudly sponsored by ActewAGL.

More than 90 restaurants and caterers whose businesses are located in the ACT and Southenn NSW region were recognised at the ceremony last night (August 23) at the National Convention Centre in Canberra to acknowledge excellence in food and service.

Joining the two winning restaurants of the year in the winners’ circle was Roseleigh Manor in Wagga Wagga who was named the region’s Caterer of the Year. They also received an honourable mention in the category of Wedding Caterer.

Both Thyme Out At The Manor and Roseleigh Manor will now compete with venues from across NSW in the regional finals in early October this year. Mezzalira Ristorante will now move forward to represent the ACT in the National Awards for Excellence being held in Melbourne in late October.
